Wayland’s Smithy Long Barrow | Megalithic Mysteries and the Uffington Dragon | Megalithomania

Visit Wayland’s Smithy, Uffington White Horse & other sites on the ‘Mysteries of England’ Tour in July 2021: <a href="http://www.megalithomania.co.uk/englandtour2021.html." target=”_blank” rel=”nofollow”>http://www.megalithomania.co.uk/englandtour2021.html. Hugh Newman explores one of the most impressive Neolithic Long Barrows in Britain located close to the Uffington White Horse. Wayland’s Smithy is dated to over 3500 BC and was constructed originally from wood, with stones added later. It is located about a mile and a quarter to the west of the ramparts of Uffington Castle and the White Horse, along the route of the ancient Ridgeway. But was the White horse in fact a Dragon carved on the hill? Hugh discusses the possibility as well as other legends associated with the sites and looks at its position on the Belinus Ley Line and its connection to Cygnus.
